KUALA KANGSAR: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, spent some time with members of the media today to thank them for their coverage of the political crisis in the state over the past week.

Arriving at the state secretariat building at 3.40pm, the ruler spent around 20 minutes chatting with some 50 members of the media, accompanied by state secretary Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim.

He expressed his gratitude for their hard work and effort in reporting the latest developments, acknowledging the role they played in providing information to the people.

“I saw you guys braving the rain and the heat just to get the news, so thank you all. Keep working hard,” he told them.

Before leaving, Sultan Nazrin also joined in for a photo session with the media, who had been at the building’s Dewan Jubli Perak hall since 9am.

Since the Perak political crisis began last Friday, reporters, photographers and videographers of various media agencies had camped outside Istana Kinta in Ipoh to get the latest developments on the issue.

The crisis was finally resolved when Umno, PPBM and PAS reached a consensus to back Perak Umno chief and Kota Tampan assemblyman Saarani Mohamad for the menteri besar post.
