KUCHING (June 27): The State Health Department declared an end to one Covid-19 cluster, namely the Stunggang Cluster in Lundu, after no new cases were detected from the cluster in the past 28 days.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said in its daily statement that despite the cluster ending, there are still 93 active clusters in the state.
“A total of 16 active clusters have recorded 132 new cases while 77 clusters did not record additional cases,” said SDMC.
SDMC added that no new clusters were detected in Sarawak today.
Meanwhile, there are seven districts still classified as Covid-19 yellow zones in Sarawak, with Daro district remaining the sole green zone, said the committee.
Kabong district returned to orange zone status from red after only recording a total of 29 local transmissions in the past 14 days.
Dalat district returned to yellow zone status from orange after recording a total of only 15 cases of local infection in the past 14 days, bringing the number of orange zones to three.
There are 29 red zones in the state.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) categorises a district as green zone should there are no Covid-19 cases recorded over a 14-day period – one to 20 local transmission cases as yellow; 21 to 40 as orange, and 41 and above as red zone.
