PENAMPANG: Volunteers preparing the meals of frontliners who are at the Penampang Cultural Hall to carry out the Covid-19 immunization programme were delighted when the 2021 State Unduk Ngadau, Maya Hejnowska, pitched in to help them recently.
“She helped with the cooking and packing of lunches for 70 frontliners at the Penampang Cultural Hall’s vaccination centre,” said Rotary Club Penampang president Boni Mosios.
He said that Maya’s presence was a pleasant surprise to the volunteers.
The communal work to prepare the lunches for the frontliners is jointly carried out by the Rotary Club Penampang and Persatuan Penggerak Penampang Sabah (PPPS).
The collaboration started on June 14 and would be carried out until June 30, said Boni.
Maya has urged everyone to register for the vaccine using the Mysejahtera application.
Her sentiment was shared by State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk George Ginibun who is also the founder of the Rotary Club of Penampang.
George in his message urged everyone to follow the Standard Operating Procedure and to stay at home, if possible.
He also called on the people to not believe the bad rumours about the Covid-19 vaccination that is made viral on social media.
Meanwhile, the chairperson of the State Unduk Ngadau 2021, Joanna Datuk Kitingan who was also present to accompany Maya, said that she had already received both dosages of the Covid-19 vaccine and urged everyone to be vaccinated so that they can return to their normal life.
The communal work to prepare the lunches has been made possible due to the generous contributions of Datuk George Ginibun, Unit Pemimpin Pembangunan Masyarakat chief Joe Suleiman, Patricia Mosinoh, Rotary Club of Penampang members and friends.
