PUTATAN: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan today promised that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) State Government will work towards the establishment of the Sabah Blood Centre by 2021, and allocating between 5% to 10% of the Putatan government land for housing purposes.

“We realize the need for us to donate blood, for us to save lives, and that is why I agree that the Kota Kinabalu Sabah Blood Centre needs to be created quickly. I and the YBs (people’s representatives) from the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah state government will ensure to put in the effort so that the blood centre in Kota Kinabalu can be established next year.

“I know we also need homes and not just blood. To build homes, we need an area,” Jeffrey said at the launch of the Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) Putatan My Blood2u “Born Hero” blood donation program, Housing Cooperative and Putatan STAR Secretariat Office here today.

“I will discuss with the ministry to consider, at least, allocating 5% to 10% of the [government land]area for housing in Putatan. God Willing, we will do it,” he said.

Jeffrey was responding to STAR Putatan coordinator Phillip Among, who earlier during the ceremony, mooted the establishment of the Sabah Blood Centre and the allocation of government land for housing areas for the people of Putatan.
