Singer Siti Sarah Dies Of COVID-19 After Safe Delivery Of 4th Child

Singer Siti Sarah Raisuddin, who had been battling COVID-19 while pregnant with her fourth child, has succumbed to the disease

The 37-year-old passed away at 5.13am at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia’s Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital today, 9 August.

According to New Straits Times, she was eight-months pregnant when she was hospitalised for severe cough and low oxygen levels last Wednesday, 4 August.

The mother was admitted to the hospital’s ICU and put in a medically induced coma on Friday, 6 August

With her condition not improving, doctors performed a three-hour surgery to save her baby’s life on the same day.

Although premature, the baby boy was safely delivered and named Ayash Affan.

However, three days after not waking up from the sugery, news of Siti Sarah’s death was shared by her husband, Shuib Sepahtu, whose real name is Shahmira Muhamad, on Instagram.

“My heavenly angel has gone forever. I ask you to please offer Al-Fatihah,” he wrote.

The singer of hits such as Semakin had tested positive for COVID-19 along with her whole family, on 27 July

According to Berita Harian, Siti Sarah, her husband, and their three children, Uwais Alqarni, 10, Dzahira Talita Zahra, 8, and Ariq Matin, 6, were confirmed positive after finding out they were close contacts of a domestic helper.

Shuib and his children have since tested negative after 14 days of quarantine.
