Singapore court stays execution of Malaysian over Covid infection

SINGAPORE, Nov 9 — A Singapore court on Tuesday granted a stay of execution for a Malaysian man whom campaigners say is mentally disabled after he tested positive for the coronavirus.

Judge Andrew Phang Boon Leong told the Court of Appeal that Nagaenthran K. Dharmalingam’s final legal challenge could not proceed due to his Covid-19 infection, and his hanging — due to take place Wednesday — was being postponed. — AFP
