KUCHING (June 20): The Covid-19 vaccination centre (PPV) in Serian will only inoculate those who have received their appointments through MySejahtera or the ‘hybrid’ system, said Serian Division Disaster Management Committee chairman Tuah Suni.
Tuah, who is also Serian Resident, said the Serian PPV would not accept those who try to get vaccinated based on ‘walk-in’ basis.
He explained the hybrid system refers to registration of recipients in rural areas whose names were recorded by their respective villages and forwarded to the resident and district offices.
“Therefore, only those have received their vaccination appointments can come to the PPV. For those who have yet to receive their appointments, please be patient because your turn will come,” he said after receiving contributions of laptop computers from Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus yesterday to improve the daily operations at the Serian PPV.
John also concurred with Tuah, and urged those who have registered but yet to be vaccinated to wait patiently for their appointments.
“To those in Serian Division who are still waiting to be vaccinated, please be patient and wait for turns especially those who have registered under the hybrid programme,” he said.
On the contributions of laptops to the Serian PPV, John said they comprised of five units from Bukit Semuja Service Centre and two units from Penghulu Lee Choi Joo.
He also informed that 20 volunteers from Bukit Semuja Recreation Club (Buserec) have been enlisted by his service centre to assist the health workers at Serian PPV.
“I hope that with the volunteers and contributions of the laptops, the processes and procedures involved in the vaccination programme at Serian PPV can be go on smoothly and more orderly,” he said.
Tuah also thanked those who have presented contributions to the Serian PPV including chairs and canopies to provide extra comfort for the vaccine recipients.
