SDMC: Lubok Antu reverts to orange, Beluru yellow

KUCHING (June 23): Lubok Antu District reverted to orange zone from red while Beluru district reverted to yellow zone from orange after recording 39 and 20 new Covid-19 cases respectively in the past two weeks, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

“This brings the total red zones in the state to 30, orange zone to two, yellow zone to seven and one green zone,” the committee said in a statement today.

The remaining red zones were Simunjan, Tebedu, Matu, Julau, Lundu, Telang Usan, Song, Sebauh, Kabong, Dalat, Bau, Meradong, Asajaya, Tanjung Manis, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Sri Aman, Pakan, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu which recorded a total of 8,322 cases.

The other orange zone was Marudi, while the other yellow zones were Limbang, Betong, Saratok, Pusa, Belaga and Lawas with a total of 66

Daro remained as the state’s sole green zone as of today.

The Health Ministry categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmission cases as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.

Meanwhile, the police had issued 35 compounds for standard operating procedures (SOP) violations in the last 24 hours where 11 were in Bintulu, Miri (7), Kuching (5), Sibu (5), Padawan (4), Lawas (2) and Mukah (1).

The offences were not wearing face mask (8), not scanning MySejahtera (8), being in public places after 10pm without valid reason (7), holding gathering drinking alcohol and no physical distancing (6), operating premises that were not allowed to open (4) and inter-district travel without permission (2),

“The total number of compounds issued since the Movement Control Order was implemented in March 18, 2020 to-date was 8,150,” said SDMC.

Similarly, the Local Government and Housing Ministry also issued a total of four compounds over the smae period of time, where two were by the Sri Aman District Council, Kuching South City Council (1) and Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (1).

The offences were operating without permission (2), operating with capacity exceeding 30 per cent (1) and not scanning MySejahtera (1).

This brings the total number of compounds issued since Feb 1 to-date to 1,151.
