KUCHING (July 10): Sarawak’s Covid-19 red zones further dropped to 20 after Betong reverted to orange today, said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

Despite so, the number of Covid-19 orange zones increased to seven with not just Betong joining the list but Lubok Antu declared as orange zone from yellow.

“Betong recorded a total of 28 local transmissions in the last 14 days, and it is no longer a red zone now.

“Lubok Antu reported a total of 29 local transmission cases in the last 14 days, and its status is now orange,” said SDMC in a statement.

As a result, the number of Covid-19 yellow zones in Sarawak reduced by one to 12, and the number of green zones remains unchanged at one.

The Ministry of Health categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmissions as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
