Sarawak records 491 new Covid-19 cases, nationwide 5,803

KUCHING (June 26): Sarawak today recorded 491 new Covid-19 infections out of a total of 5,803 new cases recorded nationwide, just two days away from the deadline for the extended Movement Control Order (MCO) of June 28.

According to Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a Facebook post, Selangor remained at the top with 2,108 new infections, followed by Negeri Sembilan (741), Kuala Lumpur (628) and then Sarawak.

Other states that recorded three-digit figures are Melaka with 355 new cases, followed by Johor (329), Pahang (220), Sabah (189), Kedah (186), Pulau Pinang (160), Perak (137) and Kelantan (103).

Labuan recorded 99 new cases followed by Terengganu (29), Putrajaya (24) and Perlis (4).

To date, Dr Noor Hismah said the country recorded a total number of 728,462 confirmed Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began last year.
