What started out as an inconspicuous news report on the plight of families in Malaysia who could not return to their hometowns to celebrate Lunar New Year has caught the attention of keen-eared Genshin Impact fans who noticed that something was amiss

Though their age is showing, one cannot say that they are not keeping abreast with the modern age, as they saw it fit to pair their Lunar New Year coverage with Rapid As Wildfire from Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact players will definitely be familiar with this track as it is one of the battle themes one can hear while engaging in battle across Liyue.
Usually, video editors working at news outlets have a stock of background music specially chosen for every celebration.
Many have speculated that someone from the editing team over at RTM must have been a huge fan of Genshin Impact, and is probably feverishly hoping to get a five-star character in between editing and producing the daily news bulletin.
It was definitely a heart-tugging piece, if not for the unexpected side effect of Genshin Impact fans watching the news and being reminded of their battles against Dendro Slimes instead
Many people online have said that they have heard other popular video game background music in other news broadcasts as well, with IGN Southeast Asia writer Dale Bashir swearing that he has heard the battle theme for Final Fantasy X on Malaysian television more than once before.
In any case, this may not lead to a full-on cease-and-desist from MiHoYo, and might just be chalked up as a blunder by the news team.
Then again, if they persist, maybe more of our youth will tune into the news on TV, who knows?
