Prison cases raise Sabah figure

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s daily Covid-19 cases shot up to 322 on Saturday with two prisons recorded 123 cases overnight.

Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun revealed this in his Twitter post.

“Sabah daily cases shot up overnight to 322. It’s due to 123 cases from Tawau prison (97) and Kepayan prison KK (26). That’s 38.2 per cent of today’s total.

“Tawau is top with 112, KK 72, Kudat 34, Beaufort 34, Sandakan 19, Pitas 12, Kota Belud 11,” he said.

Districts recorded single digit case were Papar (6), Semporna (4), Putatan (4), Keningau (4), Kota Marudu (3), Penampang (3), Lahad Datu (2), Kalabakan (1) and Tuaran (1).

Eleven districts recorded zero cases namely Telupid. Beluran, Kunak, Kinabatangan, Tongod, Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Ranau, Tenom, Nabawan and Tambunan.
