Power outage: SEB looking into cause of double circuit tripping of Murum transmission line

According to SEB, the power outage last night affected most parts of Kuching, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Mukah, Sibu, Bintulu and parts of Miri.

KUCHING (July 11): Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) is looking into the cause of the double circuit tripping of the 275kV Murum transmission line, which brought about a power outage to several areas across the state at around 9.30pm last night.

“Sarawak Energy sincerely apologises to our affected customers for the inconvenience caused by the outage, and is investigating the cause of the double circuit tripping on the Murum line that led to the interruption,” said SEB in a statement issued after the outage.

According to SEB, the power outage affected most parts of Kuching, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Mukah, Sibu, Bintulu and parts of Miri.

“Restoration works commenced immediately with supply safely restored to affected areas progressively with almost full restoration by 10.30pm,” it added.
