KUCHING (Aug 24): The police are setting up road diversion for motorists heading to the Covid-19 One-Stop Centre at Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Community Hall starting 6.30am today until further notice.

Kuching district police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said in a statement said road diversion was necessary following the surge in the number of vehicles and individuals heading to the centre for swab tests.

“All road users heading to MBKS Community Hall are advised to strictly comply with the orders of police officers on duty as well as road signs to ensure smooth vehicle entry and exit from the centre.

“Members of the public are also advised to plan their journey according to the stipulated operating hours and avoid coming at the same times especially during peak hours in the morning.

“Other motorists are advised to use alternative routes besides from Jalan Padungan,” he stated.

He warned that action can be taken under the Road Transport Act 1987 for those who go against orders given by police on duty.
