Police report lodged over threats to Nabawan Health Office

KOTA KINABALU: A police report was lodged today by the Nabawan District Health Office after receiving threats from some people in the district who were not satisfied with the Covid-19 test positive results.

It is believed that the results caused two localities in Nabawan to be placed under enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

According to the state Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, the case was handed over to the police for further investigation.

“Nabawan District Health Office has received a report in the form of text and voice recordings that have been spread through WhatsApp message over the past three days containing complaints, dissatisfaction and disbelief of some parties on the recent increase in Covid-19 diagnosis in the district.

“Elements of threats to the safety of government employees and property have been identified.
“Nabawan District Health Office takes seriously all kinds of threats and threats to the safety of government staff and property,” he said.

Masidi also advised the people to give their cooperation to allow frontliners to do the right thing instead of making popular decisions.

“We must make the right decision, otherwise we cannot find solutions,” he said.
