Police probing viral video on alleged SOP violation by Batu Pahat MP

BATU PAHAT (June 29): Police are investigating an MP who allegedly violated the standard operating procedures of Phase One of Movement Control under the National Recovery Plan (PPN).

Batu Pahat district police chief ACP Ismail Dolah said police had detected the footage and opened an investigation paper following a report received.

He said police would call up the MP and other quarters involved to assist with the investigation under Regulation 18(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2021.

“Police also urge members of the public not to make any speculation that could interfere with the investigations,” he said in a statement, today.

The 13-second video showing an MP and a group of individuals gathering, believed to be eating durian at an orchard, recently went viral on social media. – Bernama
