According to a report in Bernama, the workers, in their 20s and 40s, were carrying out construction work under the 12m high concrete structure near the Kota Damansara exit toll when the incident occurred.

Bernama quoted Selangor fire and rescue department chief Norazam Khamis as saying that while one worker was slightly hurt, the other was seriously injured on the waist after he was hit by a chunk of rubble.

“They were sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment,” he said.

“The DASH Emergency Response Team (ERT) was at the scene to control traffic and remove the metal scaffolding involved. A stop-work order at the construction site was issued immediately,” it said.

According to the company’s statement, the developer and main contractor involved will give their full cooperation in the investigation conducted by the authorities.
