KUALA LUMPUR: Kedah PAS is confident that its allies, Umno and PPBM, now at odds with each other, will not clash in the state in the coming general election.
Its deputy commissioner and Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said cooperation among the three Malay parties in Kedah was solid at the moment.
For the coming election, he said PAS would contest the seats it won in the last general election.
Sanusi, who is the state Perikatan Nasional chief, said Umno and PPBM would also defend their respective seats.
“All parties (PAS, Umno and PPBM) agree with that formula (to defend their seats), and negotiate on seats won by Pakatan Harapan,” he told reporters after a PAS meeting at its headquarters here today.
The Perikatan Nasional-led Kedah government controls 23 of the 36 seats in the state assembly.
