DBKU said only critical construction and maintenance works that had been given the green light as per SOP would be allowed.
KUCHING (June 12): All non-essential construction and maintenance works are strictly prohibited within the jurisdictions of Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) during the extended Movement Control Order (MCO) period from June 15 to 28.
DBKU said this in a statement today following the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) announcement last night to adhere to Putrajaya’s decision to extend the MCO until June 28.
“Please be informed that in line with the extended MCO from June 15 to 28, all construction sector will not be allowed to operate,” said the city commission.
DBKU, however, said only critical construction and maintenance works that had been given the green light as per the standard operating procedures (SOP) would be allowed.
It added that this was for the safety of the community and the society at large.
DBKU also appealed to all to comply with the SOP set by the National Security Council and the directives issued by the SDMC from time to time.
