No new Covid-19 clusters but 239 new cases detected from nine active clusters in S’wak today – SDMC

KUCHING (July 13): No new Covid-19 clusters were declared in Sarawak despite a rise in the state’s new cases today, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

However, the committee said in a statement today that nine active clusters recorded a total of 239 new cases.

Among the top three clusters recording the highest number of new cases today were the Tembok Miri Cluster at 169 followed by the Mongkos 2 Cluster in Tebedu (49) and Kampung Kendaie Cluster in Lundu (9).

“Other clusters which recorded more than one new cases are the Industry 121 Kuala Baram Cluster (5) and Benteng Sri Aman Cluster (3),”

“The Sungai Long Seripa Cluster in Sebauh, Lunyim Cluster in Telang Usan, Sungai Pelepak Cluster in Meradong and Kampung Serikin Cluster in Bau all recorded one new positive case each today,” added SDMC.

Apart from that, SDMC said that no clusters ended today while it was also revealed by the committee that there are 91 clusters which did not record any new cases today too.

Currently, there are a total of 100 active clusters in the state.

Meanwhile, SDMC said that there are 21 Covid-19 red zones in the state, four orange zones, 14 yellow zones and one green zone.

“Dalat today reverted to a yellow zone from orange after recording 18 local transmissions in the past 14 days,” SDMC said.

Daro remains the sole green zone in Sarawak.

The Ministry of Health categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmissions as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
