KUCHING (June 18): The Ministry of Health has assured Malaysians that the Covid-19 vaccines provided by the government at all Vaccine Administration Centres (PPVs) across the nation are free.

β€œThe administration of Covid-19 vaccines, be it at a public PPV or private PPV, is free. The cost of vaccines is fully borne by the government,” the ministry said in a Facebook post today.

The ministry encouraged individuals to lodge a police report should they be asked to pay for either the vaccine or a vaccination appointment slot.

Utusan Malaysia had reported police arrested a man and a woman in Petaling Jaya for allegedly being involved in the fraudulent sale of Covid-19 vaccines through social media and phone calls.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Mohd Kamarudin Md Din is reported to have said the two suspects, aged 26 and 27, had offered Covid-19 vaccine packages at a certain rate.

The case is being investigated under Sections 420/511 of the Penal Code.
