BUTTERWORTH: A Korean pastor was charged with two counts of outraging the modesty of two men at his apartment on two different occasions in 2013 and 2017 at the Magistrate’s Court here today.

Jee Jon Hoon, 54, was accused of using criminal force by hugging, kissing and groping the private parts of Goh Chin Keong, 28, at about 12.20 pm at sometime in October 2013 at Apartment Seri Cemerlang here.

He was also charged with doing the same to Foo Lun Leong, 27, at the same location at sometime in July 2017 at about 11 pm.

Jee was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force to a person with the intent to outrage modesty which carries a maximum 10 years’ jail penalty.

No pleas were recorded as he was not able to understand a sign language interpreter clearly. Jee is deaf and mute.

His lawyer G Shanmugam said his client was unable to understand the Malaysian Sign language as he was only able to fully comprehend signing through the International Sign language.

Magistrate Kalaiarasi Muniandy then set Jan 18 to allow an International Sign interpreter from the Palace of Justice, Putrajaya, to re-interpret Jee’s charge and to record a plea.

Deputy public prosecutor Azlin Zeti Zainal Abidin prosecuted, while Adlin Farhana Ismail also appeared for Jee.

Bukit Aman had earlier revealed that police would be charging a Korean pastor who had fondled five men between 2011 and 2016.
