Earlier this month, we have reported that Qualcomm is partnering with a local ICT company, SNS Network which hails from Ipoh to launch a Windows on Snapdragon device for our market. As it turns out, the said product is now readily available for pre-order.
Called JOI Book SK3000, it is the first-ever Qualcomm-powered product to be released under SNS Network’s in-house brand. Powered by the 10nm Snapdragon 850 processor which features Kryo 385 octa-core CPU with a clock speed of up to 2.96GHz, Adreno 630 GPU, and Hexagon 685 DSP, the SK3000 also comes standard with 4G LTE support due to the inclusion of Snapdragon X20 modem.
The fanless laptop which weights at around 1.05kg is also equipped with a 12.5-inch Full HD IPS display, 4GB of RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. Pre-installed with Windows 10 Pro, SNS Network claimed that the 4500mAh battery within the SK3000 is able to deliver up to 10 hours of battery life.
Available for pre-order right away through JOI’s official store on Lazada as well as SNS Network’s own GLOO store, the JOI Book SK3000 is priced at RM 2199. The listing on Lazada has also noted that the Windows on Snapdragon laptop is expected to arrive on customer’s hands in early January 2021.
In conjunction with the launch, the company is offering a freebie set that consisted of a 1-year subscription for Microsoft 365 Personal, a display adapter, a backpack and a box of face mask for the first 200 customers that purchased the new Windows on Snapdragon laptop.
