KOTA KINABALU: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be enforced in four localities of Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Penampang from June 13 to 26.
Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said this in a statement on Friday, adding that the decision was made after the risk assessment carried out by various agencies in the Movement Control Order (MCO) technical committee as well as on the advice of the Ministry of Health (MOH).
“Two localities in Kota Kinabalu namely Kg Lobou 1 and Kampung Bukit Permai will be under EMCO after the MOH confirmed that there was a high rate of infectivity thus far, with 15 positive cases reported from 20 screenings carried out in both villages.
“Kampung Kadazan in Tawau and Taman Villa Felca Nambazan in Penampang will also be under EMCO following high rate of infectivity,” he said.
Meanwhile, EMCO in three localities in Tawau namely Kampung Pasir Putih Blok B, PPR Taman Sri Balung and Kampung Baru Pasir Putih will be lifted on June 12.
Masidi revealed that 3,109 samples were taken during the EMCO in the three localities and found 120 positive cases.
The cumulative total in Sabah as of Friday is 65,330.
