A video of an accident scene in Kajang recently went viral on social media
According to Berita Harian, the incident took place at Jalan Taman Mesra on Tuesday, 9 March.
Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Azman said the 3pm accident involved two cars and three roadside stalls.
While leaving a parking spot, a Proton Saga driver lost control of his car and crashed into a Honda City as well as hawker stalls nearby
Azman Shariat told Utusan Malaysia that the 58-year-old lost control of the vehicle as the car mat was folded under the brake pedal.
He also said that the Honda City driver, a 39-year-old woman, also verified that the car mat was folded under the pedal after checking inside the Proton Saga.
The two drivers escaped without injuries but one of the hawkers suffered burns to their back after hot oil spilled on them
Suara Merdeka reported that the incident is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987 and the injured victim has been sent to Serdang Hospital to receive treatment.
