EMCO extended in Kampung Sungai Maong until March 4, Sibujaya flats March 11

KUCHING: The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in Kampung Sungai Maong here has been extended from 12.01am today to 11.59pm tomorrow, said the National Security Council (MKN) yesterday.

Kampung Sungai Maong was placed under the EMCO from Feb 17 to March 2 due to the emergence of the Sungai Maong Covid-19 Cluster after one of the residents, who worked as a security personnel at the Sarawak General Hospital, was infected with the virus.

The council also said that the EMCO for Town Villa residential area and flats in Sibujaya, specifically Blocks C, H, J, K, L, N and R, had been extended from 12.01am on March 5 to 11.59pm on March 11.

They were first placed under EMCO from Feb 12 to Feb 25 due to the high number of Covid-19 cases there, and the restriction was further extended from Feb 26 to March 4.

Earlier yesterday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob told a media conference in Kuala Lumpur that the EMCO at the Town Villa flats and residential area in Sibujaya would end on March 4, but the restriction was extended for the aforementioned blocks.
