KOTA KINABALU: All contributions and donations to areas under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be coordinated by the district’s Disaster Operation Control Centre.
City Hall’s enforcement unit personnel will then distribute the contributions and donations to folks affected by the EMCO, said Kota Kinabalu City Hall Director General Junainah Abbie.
Junainah in a statement on Saturday said that the control centre had received numerous requests from various quarters including state elected representatives and NGOs wishing to contribute food baskets and daily necessities to those in EMCO areas in the state capital.
“Based on the SOP for areas under EMCO, all the donations and contributions will be coordinated by the Kota Kinabalu control centre, same as for Kepayan Rumah Murah,” she said, adding that City Hall’s enforcement unit will be handling the distribution of the donation and contribution.
By reducing the movement of outsiders into EMCO areas, the risk of Covid-19 infection can be reduced, she stressed.
Junainah urged for cooperation from all in the matter and said that all inquiries and further details can be obtained by calling the Kota Kinabalu control centre at 088-210011.
