Covid-19: Sarawak records 513 new cases, 3 fatalities

KUCHING (June 27): Sarawak today recorded 513 new Covid-19 cases along with three fatalities, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

It said in its Covid-19 daily update that the state’s cumulative number of infections now stood at 63,824 while the death toll rose to 404.

“A total of 333 (64.91 per cent) of today’s cases were detected in five districts namely Sibu, Telang Usan, Bintulu, Kuching and Bau,” it said.

Sibu topped the list with 89 cases followed by Telang Usan (70), Bintulu (68), Kuching (63), Bau (43), Sri Aman (41), Miri (24), Sarikei (22), Song (11) and Asajaya (11).

There were also 19 districts which reported single-digit cases namely Samarahan (9), Tatau (8), Selangau (8), Pakan (8), Meradong (7), Serian (5), Subis (4), Kapit (4), Julau (3), Bukit Mabong (2), Mukah (2), Lawas (2), Pusa (2), Betong (2) as well as Tebedu, Kanowit, Kabong, Sebauh and Simunjan with one case each.
