KUCHING (June 29): Sarawak recorded 242 new Covid-19 cases today, a dramatic drop from the 409 cases reported yesterday.
This is the first time the number of cases in the state has dipped below the 300 mark since April 10, when Sarawak recorded 296 cases.
Today’s figure puts Sarawak in seventh spot on the table of new Covid-19 cases reported nationwide.
It also brought the state’s cumulative number of cases to 64,475.
In a Facebook post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah shared that Selangor continued to lead the tally with 2,299 new Covid-19 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,361), and Negeri Sembilan (700).
Also recording three-digit cases today were Kedah (284), Johor (271), Melaka (252), Pahang (250), Perak (184), Sabah (178), Kelantan (131), Labuan (117), and Penang (115).
Putrajaya recorded 32 new cases, while Terengganu reported 21 cases.
There were no new Covid-19 cases in Perlis today.
Dr Noor Hisham added the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the country now stood at 745,703.
