Covid-19: 718 new cases, two fatalities for Sarawak

KUCHING (June 15): Sarawak recorded 718 new Covid-19 positive cases along with two fatalities today, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

SDMC said in its Covid-19 daily update that the cumulative number of infections now stands at 56,905 while the latest death cases, which were recorded in Sarikei and Sibu, brought the death toll to 358.

“A total of 426 (59.33 per cent) of today’s cases were detected in five districts namely Kuching, Sibu, Sri Aman, Tatau, and Julau,” said the committee.

Kuching was the sole district with three-digit cases at 157, while 14 districts registered two-digit cases namely Sibu (80), Sri Aman (76), Tatau (57), Julau (56), Bintulu (41), Miri (40), Song (37), Pakan (34), Kapit (28), Subis (20), Meradong (14), Bukit Mabong (14), Lundu (14), and Mukah (10).

New cases were also registered in Kabong (9), Kanowit (8), Bau (7), Asajaya (3), Sebauh (2), Dalat (2), Sarikei (2), Selangau (2), Samarahan (2), Saratok (1), Telang Usan (1), and Serian (1).
