Covid-19: 5 deaths, 544 new cases in S’wak

KUCHING (June 13): Sarawak recorded five Covid-19 fatalities today along with 544 new positive cases, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

It said in its Covid-19 daily update that the latest death cases, which were recorded in Miri, Sarikei and Kapit, brought the state’s death toll to 351 while the cumulative number of infections rose to 55,443.

It said 304 or 55.88 per cent of the new cases were detected in five districts namely Kuching, Bintulu, Sibu, Miri and Saratok.

There were no districts that recorded three-digit cases.

Kuching topped the list with 85 cases followed by Bintulu (77), Sibu (63), Miri (46), Saratok (33), Mukah (29), Sri Aman (27), Dalat (26), Sarikei (25), Song (19), Kanowit (16), Kapit (15), Bukit Mabong (14), Subis (12), and Bau (10).

Fifteen districts recorded single-digit cases namely Tatau (9), Asajaya (9), Serian (7), Lundu (5), Marudi (3), Samarahan (2), Telang Usan (2), Sebauh (2), and Tebedu (2) while Pakan, Tanjung Manis, Beluru, Lubok Antu and Selangau reported one case each.
