KUCHING (May 16): New Covid-19 cases in Sarawak today increased to 405 from yesterday’s 324, along with five deaths, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
The committee in a statement said 267 of the cases or 65.92 per cent were detected in Miri, Sibu, Kuching, Pusa and Bintulu districts, while four of the deaths were in Bintulu and one Mukah.
Miri topped today’s list with 98 new cases, followed by Sibu (54), Kuching (42), Pusa (37), Bintulu (36), Kanowit (24), Kapit (21), Song (17), Sri Aman (11), Pakan (9), Serian (8), Sarikei (8), Subis (7), Saratok (6), Selangau (4), Bau (4), Samarahan (4), Betong (3), Beluru (3), Sebauh (3), Lundu (2), Merdaong (2), Tebedu (1) and Belaga (1).
All in all, Sarawak to date recorded 38,383 cumulative Covid-19 cases and 224 total deaths, said SDMC.
