Cops probing clip of duo aiming suspected firearm at person filming video

KUCHING (July 5): Police are investigating a video clip showing two individuals threatening the person recording the video with what appeared to be a firearm.

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said police viewed the matter very seriously and are investigating the matter under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, and Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960 for unlawful possession of a firearm.

“The incident is believed to have taken place recently at Tabuan Dayak,” he said in a statement yesterday.

In the five-second video clip, one of the individuals is seen aiming an object believed to be a firearm at the person recording the video, while the other is armed with an unidentified object.

In this regard, Ahsmon urged those with information on the incident to contact either DSP Mohd Hafizi Ishak or Inspector Yew Yuan Sheng at 016-9099972, or the Kuching district police headquarters at 082-244444.
