Several police personnel were fined during a surprise spot check at the entrance gate of the Kedah police contingent headquarters (IPK)
According to Harian Metro, the inspection was held yesterday, 15 March, at the IPK in Alor Setar.
It was dubbed ‘Operasi Khas Bunyi Bising dan Ubahsuai’ (Special Operation Against Loud Noises and Modifications) and began at 7.30am.
Police officers, as well as civil servants of the IPK, were found to have broken the law with offences such as using plate numbers that do not follow specifications
In a Facebook post, Kedah police said that they carried out checks on confidential documents, vehicles, and security passes.
Kedah police chief Datuk Hasanudin Hassan told Harian Metro that the inspection was meant to ensure that officers and civil servants at the IPK followed rules and regulations.
“The focus of this spot check is to inspect modified vehicles that enter the IPK as well as those with fancy number plates. Action will be taken if there are officers and employees found violating the law,” he explained.
