Changes in top posts at MPOB, LGM

Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli has been appointed as MPOB interim chairman while Raja Datuk Idris Raja Kamaruddin as LGM chairman.

KUALA LUMPUR (June 5): Deputy secretary-general (plantation and commodities) of the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (KPPK) Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli has been appointed as the interim chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) to continue managing the agency.

For the Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM), Raja Datuk Idris Raja Kamaruddin has been appointed as chairman effective April 15, 2021, after the services of Datuk Ahmad Nazlan Idris was ended on April 14, 2021, KPPK Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali said in a statement today.

The change at MPOB followed the media statement by Datuk Ahmad Nazlan who rejected the appointment as MPOB chairman to replace Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakob who had resigned from the post.

Mohd Khairuddin said the new candidate for the MPOB post will be redetermined by him.

For LGM, among the mandates that have been entrusted by the Minister to Raja Idris was to restructure the direction of the properties owned by the agency, resolve the outstanding issues involving five facilities in Sungai Buloh which have been delayed since a few years ago and new strategic plan for LGM as well as LGM Properties Corporation (LGMPC), a subsidiary company that manages the properties including plantations owned by LGM.

As a corporate figure who has led Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd and TDM Bhd, a subsidiary of the Terengganu state government, his appointment was expected to bring LGM to a better and professional management, with integrity and transparency, and with a Rabbani concept of corporate governance emphasised by the Minister for all the top management at KPPK and its agencies. – Bernama
