MIRI (June 19): Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Pujut branch chairman Bruce Chai says those people assigned to other districts for their vaccination appointment can request for a change in venue nearest to them.

Chai said he had received many enquiries on the issue, the majority of whom were assigned to Niah.

“I understand their worries about the appointment venue which is in other district. It is far of course, and therefore time-consuming for them to go there and back.

“But think of the risk you may face if you are not vaccinated at all,” said Chai.

He said the request for change of venue could be done through My Sejahtera application or WhatsApp to the division disaster management committee.

Chai added that with the increase of vaccination rollout, any delay or change of vaccination venue or appointment would not be too far from the initial date given, hence the people need not worry too much.

Minister in-charge of Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) Datuk Lee Kim Shin has addressed the issue on June 16. He said request to change vaccination venue to a location nearer to them could be done through My Sejahtera or WhatsApp the Miri Division Vaccine Operation Room at 011-5928 4348 or 011-5942 4290.

Chai added: “We are doing our best to assist the public to register for the vaccination programme as we have been advocating the importance of protection against the Covid-19. We help the public in appealing for change in appointment date, and be rest assured that with the increased of vaccination capacity in Miri, the waiting time would not be too long.”
