Betong changes to Covid-19 orange zone after recording 35 cases in past 2 weeks

KUCHING (June 26): Betong district has been classified as a Covid-19 orange zone after reporting 35 locally transmitted cases in the past 14 days, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

The committee said Betong district now joins Dalat and Lubok Antu as orange zones in the state.

It also pointed out Marudi district had returned to yellow zone status after reporting only 13 locally transmitted cases for the past 14 days.

The other five yellow zones are Beluru, Limbang, Pusa, Belaga and Lawas.

Meanwhile, SDMC said 30 red zones remain in the state, namely Saratok, Simunjan, Tebedu, Matu, Julau, Lundu, Telang Usan, Song, Sebauh, Kabong, Bau, Meradong, Asajaya, Tanjung Manis, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Sri Aman, Pakan, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

Daro district is the only green zone for Covid-19 in the state.

The Ministry of Health categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmission cases as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
