After dramatic drop, Sarawak’s new Covid-19 cases rise again to 376

KUCHING (June 30): Sarawak’s new Covid-19 cases rose again today to 376 from 242 yesterday.

In his Facebook post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Sarawak reported the fourth highest number of new Covid-19 cases today.

Selangor continued to lead the tally with 2,836 new cases, followed Negeri Sembilan (644) and Kuala Lumpur (625).

Other states and territories to report three digit new cases were Johor (299), Sabah (242), Kedah (226), Melaka (223), Pahang (210), Kelantan (159), Perak (137), Labuan (132), and Penang (131).

Terengganu reported 20 new cases, Putrajaya recorded 11 new cases, while five new cases were reported in Perlis.

In total, Dr Noor Hisham said the country recorded 6,276 new cases today, bringing the cumulative cases to 751,979.

Yesterday was the first time the number of cases in Sarawak had dipped below the 300 mark since April 10, when 296 cases were reported.

It was also a dramatic drop from the 409 new Covid-19 cases reported on Monday.
