Police explained that the woman crashed into two lorries that were parked on the emergency lane, following a separate minor accident

Ipoh deputy police chief Supt Mohamad Nordin Abdullah told New Straits Times that initially, a lorry carrying electronic items rammed into another lorry on the left lane carrying palm fruit.

“This prompted the two drivers to pull over on the emergency lanes. The PLUS expressway patrol unit was dispatched to the scene to control the traffic,” he said.

He added that the driver of the Perodua Axia, coming from the same direction, lost control of her car, causing it to spin several times before crashing into the rear of one of the lorries.

New Straits Times reported that the Perodua Axia was a rented car, and the woman and her husband were in the process of divorce.

However, other news outlets including Utusan Malaysia reported that the woman and her husband were living separately as she is working in a company based in Penang.
