201 cases, one death in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Health Department reported 201 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, with one death in Tawau, said State spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

No new clusters were reported in the past 24 hours, but three localities were placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

They are Kampung Nelayan, Batu 10, Sandakan, Fasa Satu and Fasa Dua, Taman Digot, Penampang and also Kampung Rancangan Silabukan Peringkat Empat, Lahad Datu.

“Targeted screening in Kudat put the district on top with 38 new cases.

“Existing 35 clusters and 109 close contacts are biggest sources of cases; Sandakan 26, Kota Kinabalu 23, Kunak 22, Keningau 15, Penampang 13, Lahad Datu 13, Tuaran 10, Tongod 8, Papar 6, and Tawau 4,” said Masidi in his daily statement on Saturday.

Meanwhile, EMCO in five  localities in Sabah were lifted namely Felda Umas 4 Kalabakan, Kampung Tanjung Batu Darat Tawau and three other villages in Tawau; Kampung Blok, Kampung Sentosa Blok 5 Hilltop and Kampung Bukit Kukusan Tanjung Batu.

As of June 19, Sabah recorded a total of 67,378 Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, vaccination registration is currently at 28.2 per cent.
